Human Right Day

Mthonjaneni Municipality Commemorates Human Rights Month

As we Commemorate Human Rights Month in remembrance of the men and women who died on 21 March 1960 and what has become known as the Sharpville Massacre. We must reflect as a nation on the years that have since the dawn of democracy.

We all have a moral obligation to break the chains of discrimination, poverty and inequality by protecting the rights of all regardless of their socio economic statues.

We must remember that a cohesive community is only possible through the effort of a united community. Let us all stand together and commit ourselves towards uplifting the rights of those who need it the most.

Mthonjaneni Municipality WELCOMES ALL STUDENTS Back to School

Mthonjaneni Municipality Mayor Cllr SBK Biyela welcomes back to school all the learners and teachers for the 2019 academic year. As a new school year begins, Mthonjaneni remains committed to improving the quality of education for all the learners and teachers within our municipality.

We urge the community, parents, educators, Student Governing Bodies and other educational partners to rally behind our learners and schools in order to create a safe and successful educational environment. 2019 must be a year of great academic achievements in all levels of our basic education system. To the Learners, a theoretical physicist Albert Einstien once said “Education is not the learning of fact but the training of the mind to think.” No matter what your circumstances are right now, focusing on your education will provide endless opportunities for you.

The matric class of 2019 should start now to pave their success, we wish you all the best.

I thank you.
